NPDES Permitting and Compliance Programs:: Home
The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program was established by the federal government to control point-source discharges of water pollution. The NPDES Permitting and Compliance Programs of North Carolina’s Division of Water Quality is responsible for administering the program for the state. We aim to protect, maintain and enhance North Carolina’s waters by fostering compliance with North Carolina’s environmental statutes, regulations and permits.
